About Me.

I qualified as a teacher from Westminster College, Oxford in 1995 and worked in both the state and independent education sectors before having my children. When returning to work I discovered a real need for private tutors / tuition and through this began to uncover an array of learning differences.
This sparked a real interest in helping and supporting learners who found education challenging. I completed the OCR Level 5 in Teaching Learners with SpLd’s in 2017 and the OCR Level 7 Teaching and assessing Learners with SpLd’s in 2018, through Hereford and Ludlow College. Now a fully qualified Educational Assessor and specialist teacher, I undertake private tuition and both Full Diagnostic Assessments and Exam Access Arrangement assessments.

I have worked as SENDCo in two schools for over 4 years, where I gained invaluable insight. Responsible for the day to day management of the SEND policy, ensuring every child has access to the support they need to learn and flourish. I also gained wide ranging experience supporting individuals and groups of children with their learning through creating tailored programmes of study.

Currently, I have a number of private students who I teach online and in person in English & Maths and. I continue to work as a Private Educational Assessor in my own right. I hold my Assessors Practising Certificate through PATOSS (Professional Association of Teachers of Students with SpLD’s).
I worked for The British Dyslexia Association for 4 1/2 years on the Level 5 Dyslexia Course (that trains teachers to be specialist teachers to those with SpLD’s) firstly as a tutor and then as Course Leader.

I accept work as an Educational Consultant and am able to advise on all matters relating to the SEND Code of Practice, screening, assessments for children and adults and creating bespoke programmes for individual learners.
In my spare time I enjoy reading, attending the theatre, holidays, spending time with my family and walking our rescue greyhound Coco!
